Harvey Levell, a student at the ÃÜÌÒ´«Ã½ (UWTSD), never planned to attend university after leaving sixth form. With ambitions set on an apprenticeship, it was a teacher’s recommendation that encouraged him to attend a UWTSD open day. That visit proved to be a transformative experience, guiding him towards a future in motorsport engineering that he hadn’t previously considered.

A passion for cars and motorsport has driven Joao Mirra Ferreira from Portugal to the UK, where he is currently studying for a BEng in Automotive Engineering at the ÃÜÌÒ´«Ã½ (UWTSD). After completing secondary education in Portugal and taking time to consider his future, Joao said he was attracted to the University because of its practical, hands-on approach and strong industry connections. Today, he is preparing for a career in the competitive automotive and motorsport industries.

A groundbreaking new project from the ÃÜÌÒ´«Ã½ (UWTSD) is redefining how psychological and emotional support is delivered to individuals living with limb loss. The Walking in Our Shoes project, launched by UWTSD’s Centre for Psychology and Counselling in collaboration with Limbless Association, a leading UK charity supporting amputees for over 40 years and funded by The VTCT Foundation, combines the power of lived experience with cutting-edge digital innovation to co-create meaningful psychosocial resources.
