Accommodation on the Carmarthen Campus

When it comes to accommodation in Carmarthen, we have a number of options available. Our comfortable living spaces are located on the main campus, within the university-owned residential hall. By choosing to stay with us, you’ll be just a stone’s throw away from your study areas and everything that our vibrant Carmarthen campus has to offer.

Accordions

  • Applications for the 2025/2026 Academic Year will open on Monday 3 March 2025.

    New Students will need to register on Hallpad, you will need your student number and date of birth.   Once registered you will then be able to complete the application form and submit.

    Returning Students will need to log into Hallpad, if you have forgotten your details you can ask the system to reset.   As a returning student, you will be able to advise us whom you would like to live with on your application form.

    There are two styles of rooms at our Carmarthen Campus all located in flats of 8 bedrooms sharing a kitchen and lounge being:-

    • Current Style room 鈥 en-suite room with single bed
    • New Style Room 鈥 en-suite with a four-foot bed

    How to I apply for Accommodation?

    Accommodation Portal

    Login to the Accommodation Portal (Hallpad)

    The Accommodation Portal is an online service to apply and secure accommodation at 密桃传媒, Carmarthen campus.

    Login as follows:

    • New Undergraduate Students 鈥 Under 鈥楩irst Time User鈥 click on 鈥楥heck that you are eligible for University Accommodation鈥, you will need your UWTSD student number, which is provided to you by our Registry Department and your date of birth to complete.   Once registered you are then able to complete your application.
    • Current students 鈥 Log in 鈥淎lready Registered鈥 鈥 if you have forgotten your details you can ask the system to reset, if you continue to have issues, please email accommodation@uwtsd.ac.uk, and we will be able to reset your 鈥楨mail Address鈥 and 鈥楶assword鈥 for you.
    • 密桃传媒 Abroad and Exchange Students 鈥 You can apply for University accommodation at Carmarthen campus once your application has been successful.   
    • Accommodation Allocation Policy

    The 密桃传媒 strive to accommodate as many students as possible; however, we regret that we are unable to guarantee university accommodation for all applicants. Where we are unable to offer a place, we will support students in finding private accommodation where possible. 

    • We can offer a place in university accommodation to new first-year undergraduates who choose UWTSD as their Firm Choice and apply for accommodation by 31 July 2025.
    • Returning students currently studying at our Lampeter campus will be guaranteed a room in Carmarthen accommodation if they apply by 6 May 2025.
    • Returning Carmarthen students must submit their application by 30 June 2025.
    • As demand may exceed availability, priority will be given to students who:
      • Are enrolled in a full-time course at UWTSD.
      • Are a returning Lampeter student.
      • Live too far away to commute or secure private rented accommodation.
      • Have particular social and/or physical needs.

    All students who have applied, will have their accommodation offer confirmed after 14th August 2025.
    If we are unable to offer you university accommodation, we will assist you in exploring private housing options where possible.  

    Occupation Contract

    The Accommodation Occupation Contract is a legal contract between you and the University which lays out your obligations and the University鈥檚 obligations.   Make sure you read and understand the terms and conditions.

    Connect with your Flatmates

    If you would like to get in contact with your new flatmates, we will provide you with details of the University social media pages where you can search for your flatmates.   

    Payment Details

    Following arrival into your new home, you will receive an email from our Finance Department with your annual invoice and a link for making your first rents payment.  You will have the option to make annual or termly payments.

    Induction Programme

    Before you arrive, you will need to complete the Induction Programme which will provide you with useful information on living in University accommodation.

    You will be contacted by email when the Induction Programme is available for you to complete.

    Cancelling your booking

    You can cancel your booking at any time prior to moving in by logging back into the portal.

    What happens next?

    We appreciate that for many of you this may be the first time that you have lived away from home, so to help you we have put together an 鈥淎ccommodation Welcome鈥 booklet which will be emailed to you when we confirm that you have been allocated a room.

  • Applications for the 2025/26 Academic year will open on the 3rd March.

    You will be offered accommodation within the self-catered accommodation鈥痠n鈥Archbishop Noakes. Each flat contains 8 single rooms together with a shared kitchen and lounge. 

    • The licence period is for 38 weeks running from 20 September 2025 until 13 June 2026.
    • You will not be requested to vacate rooms during Christmas and Easter vacations 

    There will be a choice of two styles of rooms:

    • Current Style Room 鈥 En-suite room with single bed
    • New Style Room 鈥 En-suite room with four-foot bed

    You may apply for accommodation provided you have a 鈥楥onditional鈥 or 鈥楿nconditional鈥 offer from the University. If we are your second choice, applications should not be made until after exam results in August.   

  • We are keen to support the strong community of Welsh speakers located at UWTSD, Carmarthen campus.   As a result, the University has created a home for Welsh students on allocated flats for students who speak Welsh or who are learning the language and who wish to live together.

    The Welsh speaking flats are located within the Archbishop Noakes blocks.

    You will be asked on our application form if you would like to live in a Welsh speaking flat.

  • Once you have secured your room in halls you may then want to start thinking about what to bring with you onto campus.

  • Returning students may apply for accommodation, with applications opening on the 3rd March 2025, please contact the accommodation team for more information.

  • We can accommodate Postgraduate students on campus, in the en-suite accommodation.   Please contact the accommodation department to discuss your requirements.

  • The 密桃传媒 strive to accommodate as many students 
    as possible; however, we regret that we are unable to guarantee university

    While we will do our best to meet accommodation preferences, we cannot guarantee 
    specific room types or allocations. If your requested room type is unavailable, we will 
    offer the closest match based on availability. 
     

    If your preference is not listed in the tick boxes provided, please include your request 
    in the 鈥淣otes鈥 section of your application. 
     

    If we are unable to offer you university accommodation, we will assist you in exploring 
    private housing options where possible. 

  • Students who accept an offer of accommodation in the University鈥檚 Halls of Residence must abide by the terms and conditions.鈥 

    Any queries regarding the Regulations for Students in Halls of Residence should be directed to鈥痶he鈥Accommodation Team

    Complaints 

    • If the Resident is unhappy with a decision made by the University or the steps taken by the University in respect of the Agreement and/or if the Resident considers that the University has breached its obligations under this Agreement, in the first instance, any complaint should be referred to the Accommodation Department to investigate. 

    • If your complaint is still not resolved, it is possible to report this via the鈥Procedures for Academic Appeals, Complaints and Other Student Cases procedure,鈥 which can be found in the鈥 Academic Quality Handbook,鈥痺here you will need to complete the鈥GA5 Formal Complaint Form

    • Formal complaints must be received no more than 1 month after the informal procedure has ended (where appropriate) and no more than 6 months after the main issue complained about occurring. Formal complaints received after these deadlines will be deemed to be out of time. They may not be considered unless there is independent evidence to show compelling reasons why the formal complaint was not raised in a timely manner. 

  • Arrangements can be made where possible to accommodate Disabled Students. If you have special requirements, please discuss these with the one of the University Disability Advisers. They will be able to discuss any support requirements you may have, further information can be found on our Learning Support pages.
