Summer Show: Graphic Design

Graphic Design

The word blend in graphic design shapes

BLEND

Graphic Designers, with some exceptions of course, are not natural exhibitionists. We prefer the idea of our work doing the talking for us as we blend into the background. Visual communication, as the words suggest, often functions silently and anonymously, proving its success without need of explanation. However, this is no time for modesty. It is a time to see and be seen, to show one’s colours and to celebrate the uniqueness of each voice in the choir.

Anyone who recalls their early attempts at mixing different colours of paint will probably recall the bland greyness of the end result. The twenty individuals represented here display a mixture of projects reflecting a colour palette ranging from soft and subtle to brash and bold. You will see a mixture of the quirky, the questioning and the commercial, but even when blended together, the group dynamic becomes a bright, vibrant, ambitious orange shouting out proudly.
