Students of Surface Pattern and Textiles at UWTSD’s Swansea College of Art recently immersed themselves in a series of inspiring symposium events that offered a glimpse into the extraordinary employment and entrepreneurial opportunities that lie ahead of them.

To coincide with Fashion Revolution Week (April 19 to 26) Swansea College of Art showcased work by students, staff and associates related to themes of sustainability, repurposing, repair, and wear.

What do you do if you suffer a suspension failure whilst on track? Just ask UWTSD’s Tim Tudor, who faced that difficult scenario while racing with the University’s Team MCR, made up of students from BEng, BSc and HND Motorsport Programmes, at Castle Combe Circuit.

Students on the Simultaneous Translation course at the ÃÜÌÒ´«Ã½ have recently been busy assisting with the provision of simultaneous translation at the Llandeilo Literature Festival.

Emily Thomas, an MSc Sport & Exercise Nutrition student from The ÃÜÌÒ´«Ã½ has represented Wales at the long jump at the Loughborough International Athletics (LIA) event. The competition took place on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Loughborough University's Paula Radcliffe Stadium and marked the start of the outdoor athletics season and featured teams from England, Wales, Scotland, GB & NI Under 20s, the National Athletics League, and Loughborough University.

Dr Gareth Potter, Head of Rugby at the ÃÜÌÒ´«Ã½ alongside three Academy of Sport Rugby students—Jordan Evans, Sam Potter, and Harry Thomas—celebrated an exceptional season by clinching both the League and Cup titles for Llandovery RFC.

Congratulations to the winners of the Swansea College of Art Summer Shows Awards! Each year, the exhibition presents the culmination of degree work by graduating students. Their final pieces are viewed by staff and professionals on the lookout for standout talent.

UWTSD's Oscar MacNaughton is amongst a group of Wales' finest apprentices and students set to conquer the gobal stage at WorldSkills in Lyon.

Ryan L. Moule, Head of Undergraduate Photographic Studies at UWTSD’s Swansea College of Art, has been selected to display his work at the National Museum in Cardiff in an exhibition entitled ‘The Valleys,’ to highlight the stories of the area.

The ÃÜÌÒ´«Ã½â€™s (UWTSD) Assistive Technologies Innovation Centre (ATiC) has recently completed a collaborative pilot study with Swansea-based Kaydiar Ltd, which specialises in offloading (reducing pressure) technology for pressure lesions on the foot, from diabetic care to sport footwear.
