Role in the University
Tutor for the MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology. Work responsibilities include teaching and contributing to the design of the taught modules which includes being the main tutor for the module on qualitative research. In additional to the individual modules she is the dissertation tutor who oversees the procedure and supervision of all the MA dissertation students.
She is instrumental in the Sophia Project online presence both in the video teaching platform and use of Moodle as well as assisting in the design and structure of the Sophia Centre鈥檚 web presences. She is also one of the organisers of the Sophia Centre annual summer school and is involved in the design and lecturing in the London Campus study day programme.

Cosmologies, qualitative research methodologies, the cultural role of the sky in society, the anthropology of land and sky in particular Egyptian astronomy and Celtic cosmologies.

Research Interests
Research project and interests
My research interest are primarily the role of the sky within cultures and this takes the form of both historical as well as contemporary ethnographical research. This is express currently in the follow research projects:
- Pilot study team leader and designer of the 鈥 ongoing research into the theological implications of sunlight in Medieval Christian monastic communities.
- The historical churches of Wales and their relationship to the sky.
- Egyptian sky theology expressed through the Pyramid Text plus additional astronomical material through to the New Kingdom. Papers published by Oxbow 2012.
- The Star of Bethlehem 鈥 paper published Slovene Anthropological Society, 2013
- The Cosmology of the Fourth Branch of the Mabinogi. Ongoing research and writing.
- Fate, in particular astrological fate, as a classical as well as contemporary belief system.
- The astrology of Galileo paper published Sophia Press, 2016.
Expertise
The practice, techniques and cultural implications of astrology ranging through the periods of antiquity, classical, medieval and into its contemporary practice. Naked eye astronomy and sky mythology and its ethno-astronomy implications within both archaeo-astronomy arguments and the Egyptian stellar theology, in particular the phases of the stars and their place in cultural astronomy. Qualitative research methodologies and their adoption into other bodies of knowledge, such as archaeo-astronomy. The pedagogical issues of dealing with marginal groups.
