Doctoral Student Invited to Prestigious Nollywood Film Festival in Paris
Professional Doctorate student Tunji Offeyi from the ÃÜÌÒ´«Ã½ (UWTSD) recently attended the 2025 NollywoodWeek Film Festival in Paris, representing the university at the prestigious international event.

This invitation to attend recognises Tunji’s outstanding doctoral research entitled Nollywood: Challenges, Heritage, Practice, and Storytelling. This marks the second time Tunji has been invited to take part as a result of his research in the field, having previously attended the Nollywood Film Festival in Frankfurt, Germany, last year. His work continues to draw attention for its insightful exploration of Nollywood’s cultural significance and storytelling practices.
Speaking about the invitation, Tunji Offeyi said:
“It is truly an honour to be invited to NollywoodWeek in Paris. This recognition not only validates my research but also highlights the importance of storytelling and heritage within African cinema. I’m incredibly grateful for the support I’ve received at UWTSD and proud that our work is being acknowledged within the industry.â€

Tunji recently received news that his paper has also been accepted for presentation at the upcoming Residuum International Conference, marking another significant step in his academic journey.
