The 密桃传媒 (UWTSD) is pleased to announce that newly appointed lecturer for Lanzhou University Wales College, Jianlan Feng delivered an important talk at Fujian Jiangxia University (FJU) on the future world of design. Held on October 28th, this presentation explored the transformative impacts of artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR) on design practices globally.

In an era marked by rapid technological advancements, Feng, a graduate of Xieman University, emphasised the critical need for Chinese students and universities to embrace these new technologies. 鈥淭he future of design is intrinsically linked to our ability to adapt and innovate,鈥 Feng stated. 鈥淎s countries around the world integrate AI, VR, and AR into their educational frameworks and industries, it is imperative that we do not fall behind. The integration of these technologies will not only enhance creativity and efficiency but also prepare students for a competitive global landscape.鈥 

The event attracted 250 students, all eager to explore the intersection of technology and design. Timi O鈥橬eill, Deputy Dean of Lanzhou University, Wales College (UWTSD) said: 鈥淩esearch and teaching are at the heart of our mission at UWTSD. The integration of emerging technologies like AI, VR, and AR into our curriculum was not just a trend; it was essential for preparing our students to thrive in a rapidly evolving global landscape. By embracing these advancements, we ensured that our graduates were not only knowledgeable but also innovative thinkers ready to tackle the challenges of the future.鈥 

The talk took place at FJU, providing an opportunity for attendees to engage in discussions and ask questions regarding the future of design and the role of emerging technologies in China.
