Project outline
Innoture Ltd holds global patents for the manufacture of microneedle patches and is the only company to have scaled up mass production of flexible-base microneedle patches—initially for the medical aesthetics market. As the company explored new applications, it identified a gap in expertise around developing an applicator device to deliver microneedle-based treatments, such as pain relief.
To address this, Innoture partnered with Swansea University Medical School’s Health Technology Centre (HTC) and ATiC to better understand how their devices interact with the skin. This collaboration generated critical data on how different application methods affect device performance, positioning Innoture as a leading contender in the pharmaceutical transdermal drug delivery market.
