The actor is known on the international circuit for her work on Konstantin Stanislavsky, and particularly Stanislavsky’s rehearsal process, Active Analysis.

UWTSD鈥檚 Acting Lead, Angharad Lee had the pleasure of directing Bella in a tour of 鈥楾he Wild Tenant鈥 written by Lucy Gough during the summer break and jumped at the chance of inviting Bella to work with the university鈥檚 students as well as giving them an opportunity to watch the play.

Angharad said:

鈥淜nowing that all our students study Bella鈥檚 book, the best-selling  , being able to have her in the space with us, sharing her knowledge in person has been invaluable. We are always looking to ensure our students work with experts in their field and are always touching base with the industry as it stands.鈥

Following the workshop, where a breakdown of skills and creativity were investigated, the students had the opportunity to watch the play, 鈥楾he Wild Tenant鈥, performed by Bella and Jams Thomas, directed by Angharad Lee.

鈥淚t鈥檚 great to be reminded that our tutors and those who come and teach us are still actively working within the industry鈥 said one of the students.

Student Jona Milone said:

鈥淚t was an enlightening and extremely educational opportunity, where we got to understand the pillars of Stanislavsky through practical application. It was such a rare and exciting experience and fascinating to see how Merlin applied her own research onto her roles - providing an insight into the academia, practical application but also how each aspect works on a specific character.鈥
