Congratulations to our BSc Architecture graduates for a fantastic end-of-year show. It showcased the exemplary work produced by the students, who explored dynamic proposals for a range of community projects working exclusively in the historic town of Merthyr Tydfil.

Happy smiling staff and students standing in front of three banners at the exhibition.

The students produced a series of urban design and town centre redevelopment strategies to enable further investigation to develop a suitable design brief to support the needs of the traditional, post-industrial valleys community.

This year鈥檚 projects span a wide range of proposals, including a vertical community farm, a health and wellbeing centre through to sporting activities and a theatre. The students independently developed the briefs.

The work on display also includes a developed understanding of construction methods, technical appraisal, and practical application to support the students鈥 progression into the workplace and set them up for a career in architecture.

Dan Benham, President of the Royal Society of Architects in Wales delivered a passionate and insightful talk at the start of the evening, which was sponsored by .

Ian Standen, Programme Director  said: 鈥 I am incredibly proud of the creativity and dedication our architectural students have demonstrated in this year’s end-of-year show.
