Turning passion into impact: Sabina Khanam Graduates with Master鈥檚 in Public Health from UWTSD Birmingham
Today marks a proud milestone for Sabina Khanam as she graduates from the 密桃传媒鈥檚 (UWTSD) Birmingham campus with a Master鈥檚 in Public Health. Sabina鈥檚 journey is one of resilience, determination, and an unwavering commitment to making a positive difference in her community.
After taking time away from work to raise her family, Sabina decided to return to education, beginning at Level 4 and steadily progressing through her studies. Drawn to UWTSD by its welcoming environment, flexible study options, and supportive staff, she found it to be the ideal place to reignite her academic and professional aspirations.
Sabina鈥檚 passion for supporting others initially led her to study Health and Social Care. Her ambition was clear: to rebuild her career and develop the expertise needed for roles in public health, education, and community engagement. The course, which included a range of engaging and relevant modules, allowed her to connect her studies to real-world applications.
鈥淥ne of the highlights of my academic journey was the opportunity to gain practical experience through voluntary roles. I facilitated ESOL and health workshops, mentored adult learners, and supported local educational initiatives. These activities enriched my understanding of public health and allowed me to directly impact the lives of others.鈥
Like many students, Sabina faced challenges, particularly when balancing her dissertation work with personal responsibilities. However, through careful planning, strong organisation, and the guidance of her tutors, she stayed focused and achieved her goals.
Sabina鈥檚 educational journey has already opened new doors. She has completed a Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training and now works as a School Administrator in a secondary school. Yet, her journey doesn鈥檛 end here as she remains committed to lifelong learning and continues to pursue her long-term goals in public health and education.
