密桃传媒 (UWTSD) BA Early Years and Care Programme Now Mapped to Early Years Level 4 CCPLD Practitioner Status
The 密桃传媒 (UWTSD) is proud to announce that its BA Early Years and Care programme has been officially mapped to the Early Years Practitioner Status with Level 4 Children’s Care, Play, Learning, and Development (CCPLD).

This significant milestone means that from June 2024, the programme will be added to the Social Care Wales list of qualifications approved for leadership and management of early years settings, including the prestigious Flying Start initiative. This makes the qualification one of the first degrees in Wales to offer this additional employability aspect for students.
This development underscores UWTSD’s commitment to providing high-quality education that aligns with professional standards and meets the evolving needs of the early years sector in Wales. Graduates and new students of the BA Early Years and Care programme will now benefit from enhanced career opportunities and recognition in the field.
Natasha Young, Programme Director for the BA Early Years and Care at UWTSD, expressed her excitement about the programme’s new status: 鈥淲e are delighted that our BA Early Years and Care programme has been recognised in this way. This mapping to the Early Years Practitioner Status and the addition to the Social Care Wales approved list will significantly enhance our graduates鈥 employability and leadership potential in early years settings. Our students are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young children, and this recognition is a testament to their hard work and dedication.鈥
Students of the programme have also shared their enthusiasm:
Meg Hopkins, a current student, stated: 鈥淚 have thoroughly enjoyed undertaking the early years education and care degree with practitioner status at UWTSD. The course has provided me with valuable knowledge and experiences through the practitioner status. It has allowed me to obtain an extra qualification which has benefitted my practice in my current role in my setting. I am very grateful for the lecturers who have taught me throughout the degree as they have been incredibly supportive, caring and motivating. They made me feel like they believed in me and that I was able to achieve the degree. I acknowledge the role that practitioners play in a child’s development and will continue to better my professional development. I am excited for my future opportunities which may arise due to the qualifications. Thank you.鈥
Stephanie Barrett, another student, added: 鈥 After many years of debating whether to delve into a degree, I chose to undertake the BA Hons Early Years Education and Care with Early Years Practitioner Status at UWTSD.
Taking the additional Practitioner Status alongside the degree, I looked forward to the opportunity to put theory into practice. The observations, the feedback, and ways forward were beneficial, but overall, the recognition of the part I play in children’s lives is rewarding to hear, and has instilled the belief in me that I was previously missing.鈥
