UWTSD hosts Matter 2.4
The ÃÜÌÒ´«Ã½ (UWTSD) hosted ‘Matter 2.4’, one of three future technologies shows focused on digital transformation for the public sector. Matter 2.4 brings together the best technology providers from around the world to spark ideas, create connections and accelerate adoption.

The event took place at UWTSD’s SA1 Waterfront Campus in Swansea, and was run by the University’s AV partner, IDNS. IDNS brought together world-leading technology providers including Samsung, Ubiqisense, Epson, HP Poly, Tier 1 and Bitdefender, some of whom delivered talks and workshops to attendees. These workshops and breakout sessions allowed attendees to try out and learn about contemporary and future technologies that could help change the way they work in the future.
Demonstrations included the University’s new and first-of-their-kind Immersive Rooms, which use cutting-edge technology to enhance learning facilities on the Swansea and Carmarthen campuses.
UWTSD’s Richard Morgan, Interim Assistant Dean of the University’s Wales Institute of Science and Art delivered a keynote talk on IoT and digitalisation, discussing some of the University’s and projects and the key learning from supporting many companies on their digital transformation journeys.
Chris Rees, Executive Head of Digital Creativity and Learning at UWTSD, said: “The Matter 2.4 event is a unique opportunity to bring together leading technology providers and innovators to our SA1 campus, from both the local area and across the UK. It gives us an opportunity to showcase the innovative technologies we have to offer our students as well as promote our Immersive room with our bespoke teaching and learning content.â€
