The CertHE Health and Care Management programme is designed to prepare you for a rewarding career in the health and social care sector. Our aim is to develop a workforce ready to meet the challenges of the industry and to support the strategic goals and objectives set by the government.

In your first year, you will build a solid foundation in health and care management. Key areas include understanding the counselling, communication and therapeutic relationship, exploring basic healthcare strategies, and learning about management, organisational behaviour and digital change, whilst also developing your critical thinking skills.

Assessments include: essays, exams, reports, presentations, reflective blogs and professional portfolios.
You will be asked to utilise information technology communication and organisational skills for your assignments.

You are encouraged to continue or enter employment in the health, care or support sectors in order to enhance your studies. We recommend that you pay for the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) update option if you do not already have one in place. This however is not compulsory for the purposes of the programme.

Some modules in this course are available to study through the medium of Welsh either fully or partially. In all cases students will be able to submit written assessments through the medium of Welsh.
