Our Psychology Facilities
Our Psychology and Counselling courses are based in the IQ building on our Swansea Waterfront campus, where students can immerse themselves academically while enjoying vibrant city life and the natural beauty of Swansea. Alongside specialised Psychology facilities, students have access to a comprehensive library and a variety of study spaces.
Dedicated Psychology Labs 
As a Psychology student at the ÃÜÌÒ´«Ã½ (UWTSD), you’ll access state-of-the-art labs equipped for experimental and observational research. Facilities include psychometrics labs, interview rooms, and behavioural and biometrics labs for cognitive, developmental, social, and biopsychology studies.
The department boasts eleven dedicated lab spaces with advanced software (SuperLab, Inquisit, NVivo), Virtual Reality (VR) headsets, and testing materials. Additionally, an immersive VR suite allows for the creation of augmented reality (AR) environments.
Specialised Research Equipment 
Our dedicated Psychology Laboratories, which include a range of different technologies to support psychological research activities, are located on the 2nd floor of the IQ building.
The university provides access to advanced research tools such as eye-tracking devices, EEG (electroencephalography) systems, and other physiological recording equipment.
These tools are essential for conducting research in areas like cognitive neuroscience, perception, and psychophysiology.

The Counselling pod room (which includes area for group work activities and one-to-one skills-based learning in a set of counselling pods) is on the 3rd floor of the IQ.
UWTSD provides collaborative spaces where students can work on group projects, study together, and engage in discussions. These spaces are designed to facilitate teamwork and enhance the learning experience.
