CatSci Ltd, a leading pharmaceutical development Contract Research Organisation (CRO), specialises in delivering high-quality knowledge packages to clients. However, transferring complex pharmaceutical processes between facilities often faces set backs due to the loss of tacit knowledge—critical insights that are difficult to document and easy to misinterpret.
To address this challenge, CatSci explored the use of real-time collaborative and augmented reality (AR) technologies. These tools—commonly used in other industries—could enable procedures performed in one facility to be recorded and shared for accurate replication elsewhere. However, high costs and limited customer adoption remained barriers.

ATiC helped CatSci evaluate commercially available AR solutions and adopt a workflow to meet the specific needs of pharmaceutical development environments.

This collaboration provided CatSci with a viable, cost-effective pathway to enhance knowledge transfer—bridging the gap between documentation and real-world practice in pharmaceutical development.
