Mangar Health is the UK’s leading provider of inflatable assistive devices for lifting, bathing, and bed support—designed to reduce injury risk and promote independence for people with limited mobility. As healthcare systems respond to the demands of an ageing population, the need for safe, effective patient handling solutions continues to grow globally.
To meet this demand, Mangar partnered with ATiC to explore new product innovations that enhance safety and usability for both patients and carers. Their focus: developing a next-generation Patient Air Transfer System for use in hospital settings.

ATiC supported Mangar in transforming their concept into a validated, user-informed solution through rigorous testing and real-world evaluation.

- Provided advanced facilities for product testing, including human movement tracking and biomechanical analysis, to assess the prototype’s performance.
- Joined Mangar on hospital site visits across the UK to conduct usability evaluations using motion tracking and electromyography (EMG) sensors—benchmarking the new system’s ergonomic effectiveness and safety against competitor products.
This collaboration helped Mangar refine a safer, more efficient transfer system, strengthening their position in the global healthcare market.
