Reflecting on her time at the university, Sadie speaks with immense pride and gratitude. For her, the choice to study at UWTSD was not just about academics, it was deeply personal.

鈥淔rom my very first visit, UWTSD felt different,鈥 she said. 鈥淭here was a warmth to the campus, a sense that this was a place where I wouldn鈥檛 just be another student number.鈥

Drawn to the university鈥檚 smaller class sizes and its emphasis on individual support, Sadie found a nurturing academic environment where she could truly thrive. 密桃传媒ing Criminology and Policing, she benefitted from one-to-one support, mentorship, and lecturers who knew her by name.

However, her journey was not without challenges. During her second year, Sadie discovered she was expecting her son, a life-changing moment that brought new obstacles and uncertainty.

鈥淐ontinuing my studies while preparing to become a parent was no small feat,鈥 she recalled. 鈥淭here were moments of doubt when I questioned whether I could manage it all, assignments, deadlines, lectures, and the emotional toll.鈥

It was during this time that the supportive community at UWTSD made a profound difference. Through compassionate conversations and consistent encouragement, her lecturers provided not only academic support but also emotional reassurance.

鈥淭hey listened, encouraged, and reminded me of my potential when I was struggling to see it myself,鈥 she said.

With resilience and determination and the support of the university community, Sadie persevered. She balanced sleepless nights with essay deadlines, parenting responsibilities with academic rigour, and now graduates with a First-Class Honours degree in Criminology and Policing.

鈥淭his achievement isn鈥檛 just about me,鈥 she added. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a testament to the incredible staff at UWTSD who were there for me, every step of the way and to my son, who unknowingly gave me the motivation to keep pushing forward.

鈥淔or anyone considering where to study, I would say this: choose somewhere that sees you as a person, not just a student. For me, that was the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.鈥
