UWTSD celebrates third consecutive Green Flag Award for Lampeter and Carmarthen campuses
The ÃÜÌÒ´«Ã½ (UWTSD) is proud to announce that its Lampeter and Carmarthen campuses have once again been awarded the prestigious Green Flag Award - marking the third consecutive year the university has received this national recognition.

The Green Flag Award, managed in Wales by Keep Wales Tidy, is a benchmark of excellence for well-managed parks and green spaces. The continued recognition reflects UWTSD’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, biodiversity, and maintaining outstanding outdoor spaces for staff, students, and the wider community.
Receiving the award for a third year in a row is a fantastic testament to the dedication and hard work of the university’s grounds team, who have consistently gone above and beyond to enhance the biodiversity, accessibility, and overall quality of the campus environments.
UWTSD Sustainability Manager, Koi Merebark, said:
“We’re incredibly proud to be recognised once again with the Green Flag Award. It’s a reflection of the tireless efforts of our grounds team and their commitment to creating welcoming, biodiverse, and sustainable green spaces across our campuses. The award highlights the university’s environmental values and the importance we place on outdoor wellbeing spaces for our community.â€
The Green Flag Award not only celebrates the visual appeal of green spaces, but also recognises the importance of sustainable practices and biodiversity. The university’s ongoing investment in green infrastructure, pollinator-friendly planting, and ecological management plans demonstrates its firm commitment to environmental responsibility and climate action.
UWTSD would like to thank all those involved in maintaining and developing its green spaces – and looks forward to building on this achievement in the years ahead
