UWTSD Hosts Hands-On Tech Showcase for Welsh Educators
The ÃÜÌÒ´«Ã½ (UWTSD) is excited to welcome Welsh organisations, institutions, and staff to a special three-day , taking place from 1st to 3rd July at the Carmarthen Campus. This free event, supported by the l, is a chance to experience first-hand the innovative technologies that are transforming teaching and learning across the university.
Organised by UWTSD’s Digital Creativity & Education (DE&E) team, the showcase will feature interactive demonstrations and practical sessions designed to inspire, inform, and connect. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of cutting-edge tools; from virtual reality and immersive learning environments to drones, 360° cameras, and live broadcast solutions. Classroom favourites such as the Samsung Flip and Rapidmooc will also be available to try out.
Participants will enjoy hands-on access to these tools, guided by the very staff who integrate them into their daily teaching practices. Whether you’re interested in enhancing classroom engagement, exploring immersive environments, or simply curious about what’s next in education technology, this is an unmissable opportunity.
Chris Rees, Executive Head of Digital Creativity and Learning at UWTSD said:
“This technology showcase event is a collaborative space where the wider Welsh education, public sector community and local businesses/organisations sector, can get hands-on with technology, share experiences, and build relationships. It’s about opening doors to what’s possible, with the support of the Digital Creativity and Learning (DCL) team at UWTSDâ€
This is more than just a technology demonstration. It’s an open invitation to collaborate, exchange ideas, and build connections. The DE&E team will be on hand throughout the event to provide practical guidance, share case studies, and discuss how these tools can be adapted and implemented across different educational and organisational settings.
The event is part of a broader effort by UWTSD to support digital innovation within Welsh education and beyond. By opening its doors to colleagues across the region, the university aims to foster a culture of shared learning, where new technologies and pedagogies can be explored together in an inclusive and supportive environment.
Whether you’re an educator, tech enthusiast, or simply curious about how digital tools are shaping the future of learning, this is an opportunity not to be missed.
The event is free to attend, but booking is essential. Click here to book your place.
