What you will learn

We focus on a balance of practical experience, academic knowledge and a flexible programme of study. This allows students to develop an expansive knowledge of sports management issues and concepts within the context of the wider sports industry environment. To also produce graduates with the relevant skills and abilities to enable them to make an effective contribution in the private, public and voluntary sectors of the sports, health & fitness industry. 

We aim to provide a dynamic and engaging learning environment that prepares you for real-world challenges in the sports industry. The programme will be progressive, building on foundation modules in which students will develop their management skills and knowledge through applied and fieldwork-based modules related to management from a sports perspective. 

In Year 1, you will build a solid foundation in scientific aspects of sport, exercise and physical activity, and health improvement. The curriculum includes practical and theory application, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the core principles of sports management.

    If you are not from the UK and you do not already have residency here, you may need to apply for a visa. &²Ô²ú²õ±è;

    International students who require a Student visa should apply for our full-time courses as these qualify for Student visa sponsorship. â¶Ä¯&²Ô²ú²õ±è;

    Please note students receiving US Federal Aid are only able to apply for in-person, on-campus programmes which will have no elements of online study. &²Ô²ú²õ±è;

  • The assessment strategy will aim to support the balanced development of key industry competencies and knowledge. Assessments will also aim to support the development in managing ICT, communication, numeracy, problem-solving, interacting in teams, critical appraisal, self-management and leadership. Strategies will include a balance of assignments, fieldwork studies, practical assessments and where appropriate examinations.

  • £150 for kit for Sports Management students and the education trip. 

  • Some modules in this course are available to study through the medium of Welsh either fully or partially. In all cases students will be able to submit written assessments through the medium of Welsh.
