Mae gan Brifysgol Cymru Y Drindod Dewi Sant genhadaeth uchelgeisiol. Anelwn at drawsnewid addysg yng Nghymru a thrwy wneud hynny drawsnewid bywydau unigolion a chymunedau sy’n gysylltiedig â ni.

Siarter Frenhinol y Brifysgol yw’r hynaf o unrhyw brifysgol yng Nghymru a Lloegr ar ôl y Prifysgolion Rhydychen a Chaergrawnt.  Cafodd ein campws yn Llambed ei sefydlu yn 1822 a derbyniodd ei Siarter Frenhinol gan y Brenin Siôr IV yn 1828.  Campws Caerfyrddin oedd canolfan hyfforddi athrawon cyntaf Cymru a sefydlwyd ym 1848 a gallwn hefyd hawlio un o’r ysgolion celf cyntaf yn y DU a sefydlwyd yn Abertawe ym 1853.  Yr wyf yn falch o nodi mai Ei Uchelder Brenhinol, Tywysog Cymru, yw ein Noddwr Brenhinol.

Rydym yn ymfalchïo yn ein hanes a’n cysylltiad ag ef ond yn arbennig oherwydd y ffordd mae wedi dylanwadu arnom gan roi’r pendantrwydd a’r hyder i nu lunio ein dyfodol eu hunain.

Heddiw, mae Prifysgol Cymru Y Drindod Dewi Sant yn sefydliad deinamig ac uchelgeisiol gyda champysau ar draws tair sir yng Ngorllewin Cymru yn ogystal ag Academi Llais Ryngwladol Cymru yng Nghaerdydd a champws yn Llundain ar gyfer ein myfyrwyr rhyngwladol.

Mae ein taith drawsnewidiol yn parhau gyda chynnwys Coleg Sir Gâr a Choleg Ceredigion yn golegau cyfansoddol o fewn Grŵp y Brifysgol.  Gyd’n gilydd rydym yn creu system newydd o addysg sy’n darparu llwybrau dilyniant o lefel mynediad i astudiaethau doethurol o fewn y rhanbarth. Mae’r cyfleoedd hyn yn cael eu cysylltu i anghenion cyflogwyr ac yn ymateb i anghenion economaidd a chymdeithasol Cymru o fewn cyd-destun byd-eang ehangach.

Mae myfyrwyr yn ganolog i'n cenhadaeth

Rydym wedi ymrwymo i roi ein myfyrwyr wrth wraidd ein cenhadaeth drwy ddarparu cwricwlwm dwyieithog perthnasol ac ysbrydoledig, gan ddarparu amgylchedd dysgu cefnogol, buddsoddi yn ein campysau a’n cyfleusterau a sicrhau bod myfyrwyr, o bob cefndir, yn cael y cyfle i gyflawni eu potensial.  Mae Prifysgolion, wedi’r cyfan, yn ymwneud â myfyrwyr, eu profiadau, y cyfleoedd y cânt yma i herio cysyniadau, datblygu fel unigolion a ffynnu.

Ein nod yw datblygu graddedigion ac ymarferwyr adfyfyriol sy’n gallu gwneud gwahaniaeth i gymdeithas. Rydym wedi ymrwymo i ddatblygiad cynaliadwy a’r amgylchedd fel un o’n gwerthoedd craidd. Mae’n thema sy’n cael ei gwau i mewn i’r profiad myfyrwyr sy’n galluogi ein graddedigion i ddatblygu’r wybodaeth, y sgiliau a’r priodoleddau i gymryd eu lle, ble bynnag fyddant yn y dyfodol.

A connected University

We are committed to placing our students at the centre of our mission by providing a relevant and inspiring bilingual curriculum, providing a supportive learning environment, investing in our campuses and facilities and ensuring that students, from all backgrounds, are given the opportunity to achieve their potential. Universities, after all, are about students, their experiences, the opportunities that they have here to challenge concepts, develop as individuals and thrive.

Our aim is to develop reflective graduates and practitioners who can make a difference to society. We are committed to sustainable development and the environment as one of our underpinning values. It is a theme that is woven into the student experience enabling the UWTSD graduate to develop the right knowledge, skills and attributes to take their place wherever they may be in the future.

Transform ideas into real opportunities

Investing in Our Campuses

The role of universities to foster civic pride is significant as they provide and support cultural, social and economic activity by their very existence. The ÃÜÌÒ´«Ã½ has an impressive pedigree as a community and civic institution.  Our campuses in Carmarthen, Lampeter and Swansea have enabled us to foster excellent links within the community so that the University, its resources and services are celebrated as regional assets. Our activities in Cardiff, based around the Wales International Academy of Voice, and our campus in London continue these excellent traditions. We aim to create social and cultural hubs where events, activities and facilities draw members of the public, business and organisations into the University environment.

I’m delighted to note that the Welsh Government has approved the University’s request to purchase nine plots of land in the SA1 region of Swansea. This is an exciting development for the University and will enable us to realise our vision for a new city university campus, bringing together and celebrating the excellent work that has been developed over the years by Swansea Metropolitan as it looks to its future within the ÃÜÌÒ´«Ã½ brand.  This prime waterfront location in the heart of the city will transform the educational experience for staff and students and will enable us to provide a vibrant city experience, connecting our academic work with innovation, enterprise, businesses and the community.
